Biographical Sketch

John E Hidle

 

John is currently employed as a senior communications consulting engineer with Carl T. Jones Corporation.   In this capacity he has prepared numerous applications for new and modified communications facilities which were filed with the Federal Communications Commission.  John has over 35 years of experience in communications systems design and analysis and has managed numerous large scale communications engineering projects. Over the past several years John has concentrated his efforts in the areas of MMDS/ITFS two-way system design and digital television facility optimization.

 

John started his engineering career while attending college, working for several local radio and television stations.  After receiving his masters degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, John held engineering positions with RCA Records and Gautney and Jones Consulting Engineers before joining ABC in 1975.  During his eleven years with ABC, John held positions of increasing responsibility.  For the last seven years at ABC, John was Vice President of Radio Technical Operations, responsible for the technical operation of four radio networks and thirteen radio stations.  After leaving ABC, John spent several years operating his own consulting engineering practice providing engineering services to the communications industry.   Prior to joining Carl T. Jones Corporation, John was employed by Philips Laboratories where he made significant contributions to the Philips video ghost canceling system which was adopted by the FCC as a U.S. Standard.

 

John received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics in 1964 from Troy State University and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1972 from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a Professional Engineer, registered in New York and Virginia
