Biography
of George W. Harter
Chief
Technical Officer & Executive Vice President of Engineering
George is CTO & Executive Vice of Engineering of Hardin &
Associates, a subsidiary of MSI. Hardin & Associates is a
recognized leader in the wireless broadband communications industry, providing engineering, market planning
and strategic consulting services to the broadband wireless industry. As
CTO, George is responsible for providing technical leadership and developing the technical strategy that keeps
Hardin & Associates on the leading edge of broadband technology.
As Vice President of Engineering, he manages the daily operations of
the engineering managers and their staffs. The engineering
department is responsible for system design and capacity planning, propagation analysis, field-testing, FCC
application preparation and general consulting.
Mr. Harter is co-author of the “Petition for Rulemaking on the use
Two-Way Transmissions in MDS and ITFS” that successfully petitioned the FCC to amend its rules to permit
two-way wireless broadband services in the 2.1 to 2.7 GHz frequency range.
He was also part of the task force that authored the successful “Petition
for Declaratory Ruling for Digital Operations in Wireless Cable”. He
is the current Chairman of the Engineering Committee of the Wireless Communications Association International.
This committee is involved in setting engineering standards, developing regulatory positions and
establishing operational guidelines for broadband wireless systems.
Prior to joining Hardin & Associates, Mr. Harter held several
engineering management positions with General Electric and Comband Technologies, Inc. He has over seventeen years experience in the broadband wireless industry and has
been published in several industry magazines. Mr. Harter is a
recognized leader in the world of wireless broadband and has been a featured speaker at numerous domestic and
international conferences.
